I’m Richard and welcome to my blog! I’ve been in the IT industry since graduating from the University of Lincoln in 2016. During that time I’ve gone from business systems > helpdesk > sysadmin > DevOps, where I’m honing my craft. I’ve worked across multiple sectors, working into many evenings (and nights!), and implemented basically every type of system you can imagine.

Now, I’m fascinated by the world of DevOps and system reliability. I’m driven by learning new tech but also reflecting on how tech teams can deliver business value and provide great service. I’m migrating to a more DevOps-oriented career and I hope my posts here can help others do the same. I’ll cover everything from diving into Kubernetes for the first time to reflecting on challenges I’ve overcome at work or in the homelab.
